Q: Where do i fly into and how do i get to rocky mountain motos?
A: We have 3 airports close by (“close” is a relative term in Big Sky Country). Rent a car or grab a taxi/Uber to get to us. We also have a couple drivers in Billings ready to meet you at the airport and drive you to us for just $60. Plug our address into your Google maps: 14 Meadow Circle, Red Lodge
Billings, Montana - 1 hour
Cody, Wyoming - 1 hour
Bozeman, Montana - 2 hours
Q: Will the himalayans cruise on the highway?
A: Our Himalayans are good for all-day highway cruising, but you shouldn’t expect to be doing 75+. A good, comfortable cruising speed is 65 mph. If you’re trying to make 500 miles a day, a big Harley or BMW is probably a better choice. If you’re after country roads and gravel/dirt, the Himalayan is your bike.
Where can I sleep the first night?
A: There are several hotels/motels in Red Lodge. Check Expedia, Booking, etc. for availability.
There are also several campgrounds within a 15 minute ride. They may be full during peak summer season, but there is plenty of unimproved camping along Glacier Lake Road, about 15 minutes south of town. GPS coords: 45.0278449,-109.4422158
Q: do you have other rental items available?
A: We have a selection of equipment you may wish to rent for your ride.
Q: can i use my own insurance?
A: We require you to purchase a policy from our insurance provider no later than 5 days prior to your rental start period. The fee is $15 per day. Click HERE to purchase your policy. Be sure to bring your receipt printout or email.
Q: can I stash some of my stuff with you while I’m riding?
A: You sure can!
Q: Can I leave my rental car with you while I’m riding?
A: We don’t have space on-site for your car, but there’s plenty of open long-term parking in town, just a few minutes away. We’ll shuttle you down and back.
Q: where should I ride?
A: We’ll give you some friendly pointers for various roads and trails when you’re picking up your bike. We also have Butler off-road maps available for purchase. Check out The Area page for several must-sees.
Q: are panniers/side bags included?
A: We include soft drybag panniers for the Royal Enfield Himalayan. These are 100% waterproof, and will not break your heels when navigating rocky trails. Each side has 27.5 liters of capacity. We have ruled out including hard panniers, as they are too easily damaged and increase chance of injury.
Q: what happens if i crash the bike?
A: Call the police if needed. Then, call us. You are responsible for all towing arrangements and damages to the motorcycle. We will try to assist with locating a tow company near you.
Q: what happens if i get a flat tire?
A: Just like renting a car, it is your responsibility to get the flat fixed and resume your adventure. If you have a flat repair kit, you can repair on the spot. Otherwise, call a tow company and have the bike transported to a motorcycle shop.
